Although the fruits from the bergamot tree are not typically harvested commercially, its oil is highly valued.
Originating from the southern region of Calabria in Italy, bergamot trees are propagated through grafting onto bitter orange trees. The oil is cold-pressed from the peel of almost ripe, organically certified fruits grown in Calabria.
Bergamot oil is renowned for its uplifting, sweet, citrusy, fruity, fresh, warm, clean, and rich scent, often compared to the aroma found in Earl Grey tea.
