The Nocturne series comes from a lifetime of anxiety, especially the kind that shows up at night—when the world is quiet, but your thoughts aren’t. These pieces aren’t made in those moments, but they’re shaped by them. They hold that feeling of lying awake, watching thoughts loop and shift, imagining yourself from above—small, restless, trying to find stillness. I use cold wax, oil, and collage to slow things down, to hold what I can’t always put into words. This work is personal, but I think a lot of people know that feeling—of being wide awake in the dark, waiting for the quiet to come.
